The Importance of Self-Love

Self-love is important. We need to take some time off to recuperate. Our mind needs a detox so that our soul can breathe.

As much as we love our spouse, our kids, or our friends, we owe it to ourselves. We need that time off to breathe and recharge. There must be reasons why we are required to put on that life jacket first, before putting it on to others (on the plane during an emergency). After all, we can’t pour from an empty cup.

To continue serving others, may it be our family, or even to help ourselves alone at home, thou need you. Spend time with you, please. People often forget how essential it is to disassociate oneself from the world, even if it is just for a moment.

Therefore, schedule a session every day, although it is only for a short 15 minutes for you. Do your own thing. Whatever. You may do it when your spouse or kids are asleep, or you may wake up earlier the next morning when the world has yet to start. Choose the time that is most convenient for you. The pivotal action here is to set aside the time and do your own thing. It’s not selfish; it’s self-love.

You deserve a break. Recharge to be a better you.
